I just have to say…Everyday California has the cutest logo ever! Great store (apparel choices and location).
I took a kayaking tour with Jenna and Hodson, who were both very talkative and welcoming to the group we were in. They were very knowledgeable about the history of the La Jolla area. They are also quite talented (handstands on your head on a choppy day out on the water? Kudos).
Definitely my first choice next time I’m looking to do these kinds of activities or excursions and will not hesitate to recommend Everyday California to any visitors or locals!
I booked two weeks in advance for a tour on March 12, 2015. The shop is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. They did an amazing job custom building it with reclaimed wood and designing all the really cool merchandise made in California. I love their logo with the California Bear holding a surfboard. Both me and my friend ended up buying a ton of stuff from the shop. He bought 3 t-shirts and I bought 3 hats and a shirt and a glass decal. The merch is HOT!
Making reservations: was simple, the gentleman on the phone answered all my questions and was very friendly.
Getting started: we booked the morning tour so we had no problem finding a parking spot. Once inside the man at the front desk was great at getting us started. We rented a locker to lock up our phones and anything we didn’t want to get wet. The staff helped us get helmets and life jackets. They were all very friendly.
The tour: our guides, Billy and Shawn, were GREAT. They made sure we all knew what we were doing, gave us lots a great history of the area and made the tour fun.
My group had my 22 year old daughter, 16 year old daughter, my 13 year old son ( who didn’t want to go at first, but ended up really enjoying it) and my husband and myself. We ALL had a great time. It was an upper body workout, but not too bad. I know they rent out wet suits, but they are not necessary. I bought a disposable, waterproof camera to take on the tour with me and made sure we had towels left in our cars to have when we were done.
The company is very professional. I highly recommend them and the seven caves tour. I plan on going back for the snorkeling “tour” on my next trip to California 🙂
There are very few outdoor tours that I’ve come across that are the perfect mixture of relaxation, education and a bit of adventure. Everyday California provided just that.
My friend and I came in Saturday for the 10am kayak tour however san diego was in need of some rain and it poured. Luckily our tour guides Kimmy and Brittney were calm, upbeat and informative regardless of the weather condition.
We had no hassle trying to rebook our tour. And once again we were guided through the tour with utmost professionalism, charisma and competency by our amazing guides Emily and Peter.
All in all you felt the chill California vibe in the everyday california atmosphere.
We went on the kayaking tour this morning at 0900. The weather was beautiful! Our tour guides in the water were Billy and Sean (I think)- I would say the “cute one” but they are all pretty damn cute! 😉 They were very knowledgeable and funny. They always made sure we were ok by checking on us. I felt completely safe and comfortable with them. Thanks guys, for such a fun morning!
My girlfriend and I had a great time on the 90 min kayak cave tour. The location is well organized and everyone who works there was friendly. The vibe is definitely laid back and you can sense that everyone genuinely enjoys being there. We found free parking to be plentiful.
Check in was fast and easy. They offer lockers for around $3 and also store your keys for free should you store your stuff in your car. The store had cool apparel (I bought a shirt as I really like their logo) and they offer waterproof cameras, cases and other necessities.
Our tour guides were amazingly cool guys and professional. They got us pumped! Peter and Robert were fun, funny and very informative of the ecological wonders of the La Jolla cove & caves. It was very cool to have a sea lion swimming up close to our group. Unfortunately for me, I got seasick past the point of no return. The guides gave me tips to help and kept a good eye on us. One recommended I get in the water which did help a lot. Besides the seasickness, I did enjoy the tour. The water was warm and it was cool being able to see the marine life from the kayak perspective. It really gives you a great sense appreciation for what our state has to offer.
This was my first time kayaking and I hope to return again one day. Can’t beat the rush of coming in with a wave pushing you in!!
Thank you Everyday California!
Wanted to celebrate our anniversary doing something a little different. Making reservations and planning, I called a few times and spoke to a few different people, all of whom were kind and sweet to chat with.
So our tour was really pretty cool. We were running a bit late and Alex helped us realize we could take our time. Putting on the right wetsuit the first time would be advised. *I mixed them up and Scott was in mine and I was in his.* Alex just laughed and said we should switch. Scotts was a little tight, lol. Anyway, Alex was kind and seemed to like talking to us. Peter was an awesome guide with lots of interesting tales. Keep up the good work guys. A+++++ and we will gladly recommend. Raises for you both.
The staff is very knowledgable and our tour guides, Brittany and Anastasia were hilarious and knew their stuff. I felt safe the entire time and this experience was unforgettable! Do yourself a favor and go see what beautiful la jolla has to offer with Everything California. You won’t be disappointed!
Adventurous? Want to be out in the open waters? Looking to get a good work out and see some sea lions? Don’t wait any longer and book your next outing with Everyday California!
We arrived about 20 mins before our Kayak time of 5.30PM; we only did the Sunset Kayak tour of the La Jolla Caves. Everyone was already in their wet suits and was getting ready to walk towards the La Jolla beach; so my advice is try to come about 30 minutes early just in case. Plenty of street parking and we came here on Memorial Day weekend. I recommend getting a wetsuit and a locker rental to keep your clothes/belongings. IF you bring a phone or a camera of any sort make sure it is waterproof! I was attempting to bring my phone without a waterproof case but the owner (I am assuming) stated that I would need one but I really didnt think I needed one… I am glad I bought it b/c it would have been soaked and destroyed.
Before you start kayaking they give you a brief tutorial on how to navigate and paddle and overcome some rough waters. The day we went it was a little windy but not too bad. Our kayaking experience was very minimal and in controlled waters so this was me and my gf’s first time in the ocean and we only had a little bit of hard time paddling but overall was able to navigate without too much trouble. Listen to the guides and make sure you’re always within ear shot of them.
To celebrate the end of my summer session at UCLA my friend Zee and I decided to go to SD for a weekend trip.
Upon entering the shop we were greeted by a friend smiley from a girl named Ally I believe, who informed us of the specials they have on their clothing.
While waiting for them to send out the 11:40 tour my friend and I struck up a conversation with another associate by the name of Leah. She was awesome and introduced us to her coworkers dog she was sitting.
Jumping forward to us signing the waiver and getting situated, the guys at the counter were also very friendly. They showed is live feed of the shore and told us a little about our tour, what to expect, and warned us we would get soaked (kidding of course, which ironically came true for my friend because shes the one that was worried of being dowsed).
Our guides were Tug and Anastasia (or Beyoncé and Jay Z [tug had the longer hair ;D]).
They were really great. Tug even took Rosetta Stone to learn to speak to the sea lions (LOL).
We toured the Clam Shell cave and Tug talked about the micro and macro marine life about the area.
They even gave us a Survivor’s Tour discount.
After challenging us to try to stand up tandem on the kayak. Upon returning to the store all the associates including our guides were super friendly. We had a talk about what’s the best place to eat around the shop and where to spend our nightlife in the gaslamp district since they’re natives. All in all it was a great experience and will definitely book with Everyday California next time.
Gnarly kayaking tour, good people, 10/10 will be back again!
